Water

“If there is magic on the planet, it is contained in Water.”

-Loren Eiseley

Michigan is home to the largest freshwater system on Earth, the Great Lakes. Water quality is a direct reflection of human actions on the land as well as in water bodies like creeks, rivers, and lakes. We encourage community activities on the land and in the water that prevent pollutants from entering waterways. What we do on our land ends up in waterways which affects drinking water, swimming, boating, fisheries, irrigation, livestock, and aquatic habitats.
